Grounding Into Self: Meditation
Grounding Into Self: Drone
Benefits of this Meditation
This is a meditation for embodiment. It brings you into deep contact with yourself, enabling you to know yourself. When you know yourself, you are in the driver’s seat of your life, making powerful decisions based on what is best for you according to a deep knowing inside of you. This affects everything – everything from personal and romantic relationships, to your career, to where and how you live. When we are disconnected from ourselves, we act out of fear, lack, or the well-meaning advice of another; this leaves us feeling panicked and spun-out. When we are in contact with ourselves, we act out of clarity and inspiration, which often begets peace, joy, and satisfaction.
Use this meditation as an antidote to stress. Modern life has all but eliminated the physical outlets that allow stress hormones to be flushed from the body: with few exceptions, we no longer fight nor flee following a stressful event, and stress hormones remain in the body to wreak havoc over the long term. Use this meditation to reverse the stress response in your body. As you breathe from your belly and systematically relax your muscles, you send signals to your brain and body that you are no longer under duress. This activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes rest and recuperation, increased ability to fight infection, and lowered heart rate and blood pressure.
For Optimal Use
The purpose of this meditation is for you to connect both to your subtle energy and physical body through a process of deep relaxation.
You are guided to systematically release the muscles of your body from your head to your pelvis. This engenders deep relaxation, and a deep connection to yourself – both physically and energetically. As you practice sinking into your body, you will sense and feel both your physical and energetic internal landscape – your muscles, bones, and organs, as well as the higher faster frequencies of your energy bodies. As deeply as you can sink into yourself is as far into other dimensions you can go.
As you listen to the meditation, drop into yourself and do less. Allow yourself to just be. Release any mental or physical demand, expectation, or judgment on yourself. The more you be, the more your body will release: your breathing will deepen, your shoulders will drop, your muscles will unwind. You might find yourself wanting to stretch or physically follow the unwinding of your muscles – enjoy and breathe into it; this is tension and trauma leaving your body.
